Saturday Night Live: The Road to Season 50

That’s going to be weird. Wonder if it’ll be like The Soup with just a few people laughing off camera.

Feels like just about all the new stuff would have been cut for time under normal show circumstances.

I'm at least HOPING it was accidental given the rushed nature of the show but airing the ad for Louis C.K.'s new special before "Dick in a Box" is some kind of commentary---

Louis will be back, just give it a little while. He has too many comics on his side for him to disappear forever. We don't have to like it, but it will happen.

I'm actually surprised Aziz Ansari has layed low for as long as he has considering what he did was far more tame and had way more defenders.

Dude, he is back and has been back for a year or two. This isn't his first post cancellation special and as I mentioned he's airing ads for the new special (taped from The Theater at Madison Square Garden!) on national television!

Aziz laid low cause he actually seems contrite over what happened.

I meant "back" as in being in the public eye favorably again, producing TV, having a successful acting career etc. Not just being a successful standup.

Honestly, I'm not so sure if the Louis CK renaissance in that sense will happen in the near future. Meaning like next year or two. I wouldn't be shocked if we got a Louis CK comeback to movies & TV within five-ten years.

One thing I will commend Louis CK for post comeback is he could have very easily embraced the right wing reactionary crowd and he really hasn't unless you count comedy clubs...which I guess you kind of can at this point. But he hasn't done Rogan or any "It's not fair that I lost my career" type interviews. Afaik, only appearance he's done is for his openers' film history podcast a couple months ago. He could be making almost if not as much money as he was in his prime and probably playing as big of venues if he played the "aggrieved victim of cancel culture" card but he really hasn't.

Right now, I think or {at least hope) only people who would produce a Louis CK movie or TV series are right wing reactionary cranks and I think he'd rather lay low and just do stand up for another few years than compromise his morals. Or what morals he still has left is probably more accurate.

I actually seeked out the Bob Saget SNL from 94-95 because I wanted to watch the Carmen Sandiego parody skit and was annoyed it was cut out of the clipped version on Peacock

writers Anna Drezen, Paul Briganti and Jasmine Pierce have all left the show.

Drezen wrote a lot of stuff for Kate and Aidy so her leaving is pretty huge as they are the main stars

Rumor is Will Forte is hosting next week's show.

Confirmed.

'00s SNL nerds rejoice!

Someone on the SNL subreddit (sorry CWM) pointed out that with Forte hosting next week, now the only Season 32 castmembers to never host are Kenan (who is still on the show somehow) and Darrell Hammond.

And tbh, it's inevitable if Kenan ever leaves the damn show, he'll guest host. And I wouldn't even completely rule out a sentimental "thank for your decades of service" Darrell Hammond hosting stint assuming he's able to recover from the stroke he had the other week.

My point is my "the late '00s cast actually has argument for being GOAT SNL cast" actually has some merit, dammit!

Friend is convinced beyond a shadow of doubt Kanye's gonna pull some OJ Simpson on him and Kim. I don't know if we'll be that lucky but it'd be a hell of a finale.
