Upon coming into force, adults in Canada will be legally allowed to:
purchase fresh or dried cannabis, cannabis oil, plants and seeds for cultivation from either a provincially or territorially regulated retailer, or — where this option is not available — directly from a federally licensed producer;
possess up to 30 grams of dried legal cannabis or its equivalent in public;
share up to 30 grams (or its equivalent) of legal cannabis and legal cannabis products with other adults;
cultivate up to four plants at home (four plants total per household); and
prepare varying types of cannabis products (e.g., edibles) at home for personal use provided that no dangerous organic solvents are used in the process.
 
I got my card so beyond being able to go to a store instead of ordering through the mail or seeing my dealer will be nice.

What will be really interesting is when they go after the drug testing in the oil and gas industry. I have a feeling inaccurate tests are going away.

I didn't say they'd be entirely irrelevant. I said they would never overtake the convservatives, and wouldn't win more more than a couple seats due to how the parliamentary system works. that's still true.

Until he actually has people to run in ridings and the other parties start attacking him and vice versa, he's just riding on an initial high of attention. I'll re-evaluate in a couple months if he has any kind of chance at making a serious impact (beyond some vote splitting). My initial reaction is that he doesn't.
 
The majority, and I mean the resounding majority of articles across all sides of the political spectrum I've seen about Bernier forming his own party have boiled down to "This guy is going to collapse on himself like a dying star". Regardless of poll research I don't think anybody has any delusions that he'll make anything resembling an impact.

Ford is not taking the unprecedented step of invoking the notwithstanding clause to reverse the judges decision. This is the first time it's been used in the history of Ontario and this guy is using it to override a legal ruling because he's that pissed off at this city. That's some despot shit.

The City of Toronto Elections Clerk is now unsure that with Doug Ford utilizing the notwithstanding clause that a fair election can be guaranteed with the re-rigging of the electoral districts. If this happens then the city council will dissolve and the province will step in to run municipal affairs.

The elected leader of this province has triggered an electoral meltdown that could have severe long-term consequences for Toronto simply out of spite. This should be making international fucking headlines right now. Amnesty International has issued a statement condemning the abuse of power which for Ontario and even for Canada as a country is completely unheard of.

People can shit on Kathleen Wynne for stuff like the Hydro One fiasco and the powerplants but that shit was at least confined to backroom dealings. This motherfucker is just being straight up corrupt for everybody to see and because he holds a majority government we can basically do nothing about it.
