NFL Offseason Thread 2026

Doubs fits the bill of a collection of WR2/3 talent that McDaniels has always preferred offensively rather than catering to a "prototypical" WR1 so this has a high ceiling possibility with Maye slinging the ball.

- Jets agreed to terms with CB Nahshon Wright, formerly of the Bears, on a one-year contract.
- Panthers re-signed LB/S Isaiah Simmons. Man... I remember when this dude came out and was supposed to be a "tweener" freak athlete who could be another Terrell Suggs off the edge with the athleticism to play Safety too. Very underwhelming career IMO.
- Texans agreed to terms with OT Braden Smith, formerly of the Colts, on a two-year, $25 million contract.
- Panthers released DT A’Shawn Robinson.
- Lions agreed to terms with RB Isiah Pacheco, formerly of the Chiefs, on a one-year contract.
- Bears signed WR Kalif Raymond, formerly of the Lions.

The Raiders just announced the Ravens have backed out of the Maxx Crosby deal!

Rare to cut a guy 1 year into the contract but Hobbs just couldn't stay healthy. They seemed aware of that risk and structured his contract accordingly. Losing Doubs is a bummer but they're a lot thinner at CB than receivers (especially if they decide to use their first round pick from last year instead of publicly hazing him for some reason).
Apparently Hobbs was on the shit list early as Lafluer wanted less physicality in training camp to avoid injuries, then Hobbs went out and smacked someone and both were hurt.

Something Something Lombardi tough guys

as expected the Ravens immediately sign DE Trey Hendrickson. 4y, 112m.

the league is “very angry” at the Ravens and this signing is only going to increase that sentiment towards them.

- Commanders agreed to terms with S Nick Cross, formerly of the Colts, on a two-year deal worth “up to” $14 million.
- Patriots agreed to terms with S Kevin Byard, formerly of the Bears, to a one-year, $9 million contract. Widely expected with Vrabel... a very good safety in his prime, will be interesting to see if he has anything left in the tank.

QB Josh Johnson still in the league and has signed for a 3rd tour of duty with the Bengals.
Bengals signed veteran QB Josh Johnson, who returns to Cincinnati for a team he played for during the 2013 season. This will be Johnson’s third stint with the Bengals and his 22nd — 22nd! — NFL stop since he started with the Cleveland Browns in 2012.

I don't think this includes his latest signing but props to Johnson for getting that $$ and staying around so long:
