Kamala's Random WCW Bullshit thread

I guess there's a chance we Butterfly Effect this thing and if Steamboat is involved with the Studd Stable maybe Uncensored 95 is a tag match with Dustin vs Bully and Slater or something and Darsow and Rhodes are never fired. No Goldust to kick off the Attitude era in his own weird way. That actually puts a hole in the top of the mid card that would have altered booking through 1996 WWF.

If anything I can see them booking Steamboat/Buck or something in another match on the card and pivot the whole thing onto Steamboat when Dustin is fired.

I'd like to imagine some random indie would run Steamboat/Sabu though. NWC or something.

Steamboat showing up in ECW to work Douglas and leaves almost immediately after Sandman says something about Bonnie.

Holy shit, WWE Vault uploaded a two hour compilation of Midnight Express vs Rock N Roll Express matches with some rare house show matches included.

Maybe I'm just down on the modern fan but these Russo shows are exactly the kind of thing Twitter would eat up.

What part of the year would that have happened? I've come to think that Sting's title win happened too soon (although I still like the Bash '90 ppv and the match). After doing a quick switch with Lex Luger, because Luger deserved/earned it, adding Norton as Flair's bodyguard and a quasi Horsemen as Ole moved out of the ring could work well. Ease Sting back in with a main event tag at the Bash, do some houses and TVs vs Norton, and build toward his title win later in the year. If the Horsemen-Doom feud still happens, Norton would be a good hand to mix and match into those matches with Arn, Windham, and Flair. After this proximity to the main event Norton would be a credible opponent for Sting, Luger, etc in 1991, could help put over Ron Simmons for his Luger and Vader angles, tag team partner for Mean Mark if Ole had seen any potential in that scrub, etc.

Results suggest Norton quit in May 1990. Who knows if Norton would have been down with a Mr Hughes role. By 1993 he was willing to quit rather than do a job for Sting. I'd imagine that was NJPW related though.

Who was saddled with the duty of putting WCW up for sale during the final months of WCW's existence? Was it Ted Turner, Bill Busch or Brad Seigel?

Somebody who couldn't tell the difference between Vince and Shane McMahon at the sale contract signing.

When's the last time Vince and Turner were even in the same building, let alone room? If ever?

One would assume 84 or 85 depending on when and if the TV meetings were in person

IIRC Turner openly appeared at 1 WCW TV taping (with Jane Fonda) which is where this pic is from I assume.

Who is flanking Sting? Is that Nick Patrick flanking Flair? It's not Riggs. Booker and Scorpio are in there but the 3rd black guy is Ray.
Actually I just saw the black guy in front of Jack. Not sure who he is either

I doubt Brickhouse Brown, Rainbow Brown, Robbie Walker, etc are the answer

WCW @ Atlanta, GA – Center Stage Theatre – February 1, 1994 (720; all freebies)
WCW Saturday Night:
Included a try out for Terra Ryzing; the try out was good enough that he had his TV debut taped later in the show
WCW Tag Team Champions the Nasty Boys defeated Bobby Walker & an unknown; the match was never televised since the champions shot on Walker, with Jerry Saggs trying to bite him in the face; after the match, the Nastys jumped Walker backstage until the fight was broken up by Blackjack Mulligan; the match was to have aired 2/19 but the champions were paired up with a new team, without Walker, the following night and the match was retaped
Jim Steele defeated an unknown; the match had to be retaped the following day
WCW TV Champion Lord Steven Regal defeated the Patriot
2/12/94 – Ted Turner & Jane Fonda were shown in attendance; featured Gene Okerlund interviewing Turner at ringside:

WCW TV Champion Lord Steven Regal (w/ Sir William) fought the Patriot to a 15-minute time-limit draw

Buddy Lee Parker & Ron Oates, Boss vs. Jake Stevens, Paul Orndorff vs. Matt Shepard, and Brian Pillman vs. the Mongolian Mauler matches taped 2/2/94 at Center Stage:

Harlem Heat defeated 2 Cold Scorpio & Marcus Alexander Bagwell (w/ Teddy Long) via count-out when Ron Simmons caused Scorpio to be counted-out
Vader (w/ Harley Race) defeated Chris Sullivan, Bill Payne, Otis Apollo, & Ricky Tango in a workout match

I think that's Teddy Long between Cactus and Turner.

Jane Fonda was a half century before her time. She'd be in Trump's dept of war nowadays.

Only two I can't figure out are the white shirt/tie guy on the far left and the tall glasses/beard guy between Austin and Taylor.

I thought One Man Gang at first but, yeah, I think you're right about Maxx Payne.

Only other names I can think of are Bobby Blaze and Joey Maggs.

Jungle Jim Steele?
He looks like Temu Jimmy Snuka

Frank Anderson looks like a Shane Douglas knock off so he's not either of the guys either

I'm pretty sure it is.

Cobra was what's up though.
