It has been reported on Facebook that Rick Derringer, the man who did Hulk Hogan's WWF entrance theme, has passed away. I'm gonna listen to "Real American" at therapy today, just to pay tribute.

Fun fact: Derringer didn’t actually sing “Real American.” He wrote and produced it but the lead vocals were done by a guy named Bernard Kenny. He did sing it live in concert, however.
Anyway Rick was something of a poor man’s Jim Steinman and in fact played lead guitar on “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Making Love Out of Nothing at All” and that’s what I’ll remember him most for. He also wrote a song for Meat Loaf called “Masculine” but it’s not that good. RIP
