Fox's Animation Domination

My favorite part of the whole crossover was the most low brow scene which was Homer and Peter doing the car wash.

The chicken fight went on too long, but each stealing the others' catchphrase was pretty damn good.

Quite enjoyed it, but was I the only one hoping that the fight scene was gonna turn halfway through into a two on two match with Peter/Homer against Giant Chicken/George Bush? I was figuring they would try to avoid having one side win and that would've been an epic way to do it.

Simpsons Futurama crossover was fucking great. Way better than the Family Guy one IMO. Didn't overdo it and left you wanting more but was very satisfying.

Fox moves Mulaney to 7:30 and Bob's Burgers to 9:30, effective immediately.

I found the episode where the kids told the Gail stories insufferable and thought last night's was just as bad.

Dunno how far back you're going by "last few", but I enjoyed the election episode and three-story anthology (BOBDOR).

Last night though I agree, easily the worst of this season so far

Yeah, last night's episode felt like they somehow forgot there is more to Linda besides goofy song and dance numbers.

Bob's Burgers this week was great. The Gene jacket made me choke on what I was eating.

Harry Shearer is leaving the Simpsons after a contract dispute.

With the series being around nearly 30 years you'd think they could find people to replace his voices if they choose to. There's gotta be people out there with spot on impressions by now

Honestly, they probably could. This isn't a situation of the actor dying and them wanting to pay them respect by retiring their character. It would really be no different than the guy in the Chad Vader videos taking over as the official voice of Vader for most of the new Star Wars media (mostly video games) where Vader appears.

Except that I really doubt they'll be able to find one dude who can properly nail all of Shearer's voices. I mean, he's Brockman, Skinner, Burns, Smithers, Flanders, Rev. Lovejoy, Dr. Hibbert, Lenny, Otto, Wolfcastle, and others. In order to get all those voices done properly, I think they'll have to hire multiple people.

Honestly, I always assumed the show would end when someone like Shearer was done, due to the sheer amount of voice work he does.

Anyone check out Jon Hamm's "Grimsburg"? Was a little hesitant based on previews/premise, but ended up checking it out, and really dig the "zero-to-insane in 5 seconds flat" vibe it has going. Season 1 just finished up last weekend, and it's been renewed for a 2nd season already.

“I voiced the Black physician, Dr. Hibbert, who I based on Bill Cosby. Back then he was known as the ‘whitest Black man on television.’ Then, a couple of years ago, I received an email saying they’d employed a Black actor, who then copied my voice. The result is a Black man imitating a white man imitating the whitest Black man on TV.”

“Voice actors are usually given a script after the animation is completed. I took the job because it was the other way around. I play more than 20 characters but the evil nuclear power plant owner, Mr. Burns, is a favorite. I styled his voice on Ronald Reagan.”

Holy shit why? This might have made sense 10 years ago or something but is there really any demand for this? The only Fox animated show I ever check out is American Dad and that's solely because they moved it back from TBS. That show evolved over time to become it's own thing.
