I wrote a thesis paper in my senior year of college about the irony of Eddie Murphy attacking the gays in his standup in the '80s while (most likely) being a closeted homosexual. It got an A-.

I'm going to guess most if not all of the Black Pack in the late '80s. People agree/find it funny when I accuse Eddie and Arsenio but they sure don't like when I suggest that Magic Johnson might have be bisexual too.

Eddie Murphy is not gay! He was simply being a good citizen by giving that young tranny a ride.
 
To be fair, Eddie did have a record of being a good Samaritan to bums and street scum before that incident.

However, counter argument: That twenty minute section in Raw where he talks about how evil women are. If he isn't gay or at least bisexual, he's definitely a misogynist of the highest order!
 
Counter Point: It's a comedian doing his job... you don't take what they say literally. He's just there to bust jokes.
 
Counter Point: Given his relationship with women over the past thirty years, it's hard not to see that bit as a reflection of the truth.

In Eddie's defense though, if my dad got killed by one of his angry ex-girlfriends like Eddie's dad did, I'd probably pretty angry at women too.
